With the announcement that now former Syracuse Crunch play-by-play broadcaster Dan D’Uva was hired to be the first radio broadcaster for the NHL Expansion team the Vegas Golden Knights, it left the broadcast booth high above the War Memorial empty. Until now…

The Syracuse Crunch has just announced the hiring of Lukas Favale as the new voice of the Crunch. Favale is a former play-by-play man for the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL and is no stranger to Syracuse as he is an alumnus of the Newhouse School at Syracuse University. He is also no stranger to the Crunch organization as he was an intern for the team 2012-2014.

As the voice of the Crunch, Favale will broadcast play-by-play for all Crunch games on the team’s official radio station, ESPN Radio Syracuse, along with hosting “The Shootout Show” live at the War Memorial Arena following home games. He will also host the one-hour “Crunch Weekly” show at Tully’s Good Times with special guests on select Thursday nights throughout the season.
